If you have a GPA of less than 3.0, avoid putting it on your resume because it is likely to have a negative effect. Your resume is supposed to present you in the best possible light and shouldn’t show any sign of weakness. Also, in most cases, only investment banking and consulting really care much for your GPA. That said, some other companies such as telecommunication companies might use GPA to filter out people because they receive so many candidates annually. Most professionals leave their GPA off their resumes after they have been away from school for 3 years—except, of course, when it’s an exceptionally high score.
