Work Experience
This section is where you detail the paid work experiences you’ve had. This list will include everything from internships to your previous 4 jobs or your entire work history for the last decade. This is not where you include volunteer work. Ensure that you name this section to reflect that it is a paid experience section; you could try “Work Experience” or “Work History.” This section ought to be above “Education” except you are a fresh graduate.
This section should have your important achievements such as increased responsibilities or revenue by 25%; however, do not make this part unnecessarily long. You can give details when you are called for the interview.
Mention the name of the organizations or companies where you did your internship, the city and the state as well as the positions held and the length of the employment. You should also briefly describe your achievements and if possible, put them in 2-4 bullet points.
Mention the promotions you’ve had in this section. When listing your responsibilities, begin with your most valuable experiences first. This because employers have limited time to go through your resume and will most likely skim from top to bottom—you don’t want your important achievements to be towards the bottom where they might go unread.
